Andhy Blake is a popular face on television and well-known fashion police. He is now a television producer at MaiTV.
He hails from Vunimono Village in Tailevu with common lineage to Sawana Village in Vanua Balavu, Lau. He also has blood ties to the Kingdom of Tonga.
Five years ago he produced a two season travel feature on Captain Cook Cruises exploring Fiji and its beautiful scenery. Mr Blake experienced all the cruise’s products and was familiar with the brand. He was given an opportunity to meet the company executives and has always maintained a good relationship with the management and team on board the MV Reef Endeavor and Fiji head office in Port Denarau, Nadi. Last month he was appointed by Captain Cook Cruises Fiji as its brand ambassador. “I have traveled extensively around the world and have enjoyed some of the most memorable experiences in places like Paris, Hawaii and Tokyo but Fiji will always top my list offering the most exciting escapades – we are truly blessed to be living in paradise.”
How long have you been in the media industry?
I joined the media industry in 2008 when I worked as a part time television presenter in Christchurch, New Zealand. Later, I was selected to write columns for two lifestyle magazines before relocating to Fiji in 2012.
In 2013, I joined The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation as a television producer where I worked till 2020.
I was also given the opportunity of cohosting Gold FM’s breakfast show for eight months.
I joined Mai TV in September 2020 where I currently work as a television producer and also host The Pulse with Andhy Blake that airs Thursday’s from 8 pm.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take visitors to?
Fulaga Islands in the Lau archipelago. This is definitely the most beautiful island in the world that is garnished by clear turquoise water, powdery white sandy beaches, fascinating limestone islands and colorful marine life. This is the ideal location to experience the untouched and authentic beauty of Fiji.
What is your favourite place for coffee/pie?
I love supporting my family so for me, the coffees from Hot Bread Kitchen including their pumpkin pies is my ‘go to’ – I enjoy it simply when I am not working and the inviting ambience, waft of fresh bread and friendly hospitality of the staff is also the other draw card for me.
What is your favourite backyard spot?
Kiuva Beach, Tailevu. This historic landmark is a great location to unwind, enjoy the sun, fresh sea breeze and dip into the coolness of the sea that flows in fresh from the direction of Gau Island.
What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list?
I have recently ticked it off – Savuleveavonu waterfalls on the island of Taveuni.
